- The Torah (the first five books of Scripture) was not abolished but remains the standard of set-apart living for all who follow Yahusha
- The seven biblical feasts of Leviticus 23 are still appointed times (Moedim) for all of Yahuah’s people — not just for ethnic Jews
- Shabbat begins at sunset on Friday and ends at sunset on Saturday — and it is to be honored as Yahuah commanded
- The dietary laws of Leviticus 11 apply to all who wish to walk in obedience
- The true Names of the Father (Yahuah) and the Son (Yahusha) should be used and honored
This is sometimes called “Torah-observant” Christianity, Messianic faith, or the Hebrew Roots movement. While individual believers and congregations vary in practice, the common thread is a love for the whole Word of Yahuah — from Genesis to Revelation — without dividing it into “Jewish” and “Christian” parts.
What Does a Hebrew Roots Lifestyle Look Like?
Living a Hebrew Roots lifestyle means structuring your week, your calendar, and your daily rhythms around Scripture. The week ends and begins at Shabbat. The year is shaped by the feasts: Passover in the spring, Shavuot (Pentecost) at the wheat harvest, then the fall feasts — Yom Teruah, Yom Kippur, and Sukkot. Each parashah (weekly Torah portion) gives structure to Scripture study.
It also means being intentional about community. Many Hebrew Roots believers meet in homes, small congregations, or online fellowships. They share meals, keep the feasts together, study Torah, and encourage one another in the walk.
And increasingly, it means expressing that identity outwardly.
